The post 13 Timeless Lessons from the Father of Advertising appeared first on Copyblogger. via Copyblogger https://ift.tt/2xjHLuh Creating a high-performance culture in network marketingIf there was one reason I made it as an entrepreneur… It would be because I was extremely coachable. Whatever my mentor told me to do… I did! Why wouldn’t I? He had exactly what I wanted. Through my 24 years in network marketing and building a team over a million people… I’ve learned a few things. There are teams who explode with growth… And there are teams who do not explode with growth. The teams that explode with growth have great leaders that are coachable! I have a team in Africa that were so coachable that they found ways to take my coaching beyond to me. In fact, I have become their student in many cases… I’m smart enough to realize that I’m not smart enough to know everything and I love seeing my students, so to speak, surpass me in their creativity as far as building teams & building leadership. How were they able to do this? Culture. Which brings me to the first of three cultures necessary to implement in your organization if you want massive success… Building a high-performance culture in network marketing: Score in 24When you have a new representative join your sales organization, you want to help them make a sale in their first twenty-four hours. Why? It’s physics: An object in motion tends to stay in motion. An object at rest tends to stay at rest. If you get your team member to take action immediately, they will end up gaining momentum and stay in motion. Take that same team member and say this person isn’t given any assignment or direction… You can bet your ass this person is going to stay at rest and not do much. It’s our jobs as leaders to give our team members assignments. The score in 24 models is a great goal, puts money in their pocket within’ 24 hours, and increases their confidence/belief. I’ll let you in on a little secret… A question to always ask and remember… “Who do you know that we can go talk to right now?” BOOM! This gets them to take action QUICKLY! Will everyone do this? Absolutely not! But you will get a few people who quickly take massive action and those will be the leaders in your organization. Do not FORCE someone to take action. If you’ve given them their assignment… You’re producing results yourself… and you’re helping them but they STILL don’t do it… Fine! You can only do what you can do. If someone isn’t taking action on your assignment in the beginning, then they’re not coachable & they probably won’t go all the way. I’ve realized: work with the greedy not the needy. Work with those who deserve it, not the ones who need it. As soon as you bring somebody on… Tell them to invite 4 people to lunch the following day and get working. If it’s long-distance… get people on a webinar! Building a high-performance culture in network marketing: Personal ProductionPersonally produce until you’re at the income level you want to retire at… That’s when you can stop personally producing. The team I have in Africa who are KILLING it have leaders on their team that consistently personally recruit 5,6,7 people/month! As the leader, your team is always watching you. When you stop personally producing… Your team decides it must not be time to produce or they will lose beliefs within’ themselves. Belief comes from SEEING not just talking about producing. Should you only be focused on personal referrals? Of course not! You need to be working with your people. Personally produce & don’t stop! Building a high-performance culture in network marketing: Promoting eventsGet your team to live events! If your company doesn’t do any live events… FIND ONE! If you want to be a top earner in your company… make sure that your group has the highest percentage of people attending events compared to any other group. Why? Live events will give your team the juice needed to succeed in building a massive network marketing team. When you’re seeing the company founders, people performing at a high level, and seeing people who ‘seem way too dumb to be at the top rank but are’ (Kidding… kind of), that creates a strong belief system within’ yourself & within’ your team. If I look at the leaders in my organization and I ask them, “what was the one thing or one moment where you decided you were going to go all the way?” Almost always they would say that it happened at a live event. How to build a high-performance culture in network marketing: In closing…Talk about these steps! If you don’t talk about the score in 24, personal production, or live events… People won’t do it! So go score in 24… Produce massive results personally… And get your team to live events! If you want some advanced training on leadershipFeel free to hop over to LeadwithMatt.com. The post Why Your Friend with a Creative Job Isn’t the Village Idiot appeared first on Copyblogger. via Copyblogger https://ift.tt/2njB6Ov The most important quality a leader must possess is the ability to grow leaders. There’s a rule in leadership that says, “People will only follow others they perceive are at a higher level of leadership than themselves.” Early on in my network marketing career, I couldn’t recruit anyone… let alone leaders. I felt like a 2 (on a scale of 1-10) on the leadership scale and so I was showing up like a 2. This means I could only recruit 1’s and 2’s if I was lucky. When I finally started brainwashing myself and telling myself every day that “I was the leader that every other leader was looking for”… I started showing up as a leader, therefore, was able to recruit a much higher caliber of a leader. Now that I was able to recruit leaders… I was faced with a different problem. How do I grow my leaders in network marketing? After much experience I realized… People will turn out the way you expect them to turn out. This means that people’s degree of leadership will be based on your thinking about their leadership… Your expectation of their leadership. Is this absolute? Of course not! But if you don’t expect big things from your leaders, they’re way less likely to rise to higher levels. So great, we’ve got step one: Expect big things from your leaders. What’s step two? Become a leader in network marketing by constantly encouraging your peopleTell them how great they are. Recognize their accomplishments and celebrate even the smallest wins. Many leaders who have an incredible work ethic, great trainers, and mastered all the skills… Sabotage themselves because they want all the glory. They want the fame. This brings me to Step three: Give away all the gloryGreat leaders give away all the glory. As soon as a leader on your team thinks that you want all the glory, they’re gonna be less likely to work really hard to make you more money. However… If you’re constantly recognizing, constantly edifying, and celebrating their wins… your leaders will do anything for you! They’ll think, “Wow! He/she sees something in me that I don’t see in myself!” If you want to get really good at something… Get good at seeing leadership in other people that they don’t see in themselves. That’s what my mentor did with me. I started producing and he started recognizing me and giving me the glory, not just one-on-one, but publicly. Even when I wasn’t around. Why? If you recognize someone even when they’re not around… It will get back to them and it will be much more meaningful. It’s more impactful because they’ll understand that you’re not just giving them compliments to bump up their ego. Give away credit for your successWhen a leader on your team edifies you… Say, “the only reason why I’ve been able to achieve what I’ve achieved is I’ve got amazing leaders on the team.” Give them the confidence that they can surpass you & they are more capable than you were. In The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz; It talks about honor. You should honor the leader, respect the leader, learn from the leader, but never think you can’t pass the leader because second-best thinkers are invariably second-best doers. If you hog on the glory… you’re preventing them from having the confidence and belief that they can surpass you. Becoming a leader in network marketing is about giving hopeWhen someone puts me on a pedestal I’m always saying, “I want you to pass me. You have the ability to pass me. When I was x years into network marketing like you, I had nowhere near the ability that you have.” Don’t just give people glory, but give them hope. Let them know that they have within’ them to far surpass you. The more glory you give… And the more hop you give… The more glory comes back to you. The post The Copyblogger Guide to Managing Your Professional Overwhelm appeared first on Copyblogger. via Copyblogger https://ift.tt/2YzqMWY How to overcome challenges in network marketingI’ve got some bad news for you… You are going to face challenges. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, network marketer, business owner, or working for somebody else… There will be challenges. We all face the same thing… The valley of deathMost of the people who have quit network marketing or failed in business have all been through this valley but never overcame it. The valley of death is the ebbs and flows of success… You have some success then BAM! You start to have a little failure. I’ve got news for you… NOBODY’S business experiences only success. Most of us don’t think like business owners and we think somehow, in our delusional state, that our business is supposed to go straight up all the time. That’s not going to happen my friends… There will always be peaks and valleys in business and your life. Often times when you are just getting started in something, you have no money! In the first year and a half of most business endeavors, you see very little financial progress… So how do you get through this valley of death? How do we overcome the challenges faced in the valley of death? You need emotional capital. You’ve got to have enough emotional capital in order to weather the storm… To get through the valley. How do you get through this valley of death? You KEEP GOING! Most people don’t like to hear this, but… If you want to succeed in network marketing or any other business endeavor… You MUST do your due diligence. Learn all you can. Figure stuff out. How are you going to get more customers in your business and keep them? What are your profit margins? How is your marketing? You’ve got to figure all those things out. There’s a concept called Kai Zen in Japanese which means the art of continuous and never-ending improvement. Tony Robbins calls it C-A-N-I (Constant And Never-ending Improvement) Using Kai Zen to overcome challenges in network marketingConstantly try and improve your skills… Learning new closing techniques… Trying new invitation techniques… Learning how to create more authority over social media. All of these things come into play when moving towards success in network marketing. We must discipline our disappointments and think like business owners because every business owner goes through the valley of death. Every million-dollar earner in our profession (that’s been around long enough) has gone through this valley. No more thinking, “Oh poor pitiful me. Why does this have to happen to me? I suck! I’m not a good salesperson. I’m not a good closer.” Almost every network marketing leader went through the same thing. You’re not special! Increase your emotional capital… Fortify your emotional strength… Discipline your disappointments… Be patient with your results and be very impatient with your activity. Go make it happen.
